A Little Information About the Aldrich's
After some digging I finally found that Hulbert and William Aldrich were brothers. Lawrence was Hulbert's son. The address listed in the 1900 directory was above a store in Newark. This was fixed in the newspaper clipping at the bottom of the page where the directory is. How did I come to my conclusion? The answer is easy. William had two obituaries listed in the newspaper. The only in the picture on this page, and one that can be located here. What I learned from the obituary at fultonhistory.com was that William did in fact have siblings. This was important in narrowing down which William was the William listed in the 1900 directory.

According to the 1900 census of Arcadia, Wayne County, New York William Aldrich was born in August 1845 and married a woman named Etta (possibly Lyke was her maiden name as would be concluded from an obituary of William Lyke) with a child named Lora (which matches his obituary in the newspaper linked above).
Hulbert Aldrich was a prominent dentist in Newark. He married Minerva Rush, and can be found living with her father in the 1870 census of Arcadia, Wayne County, New York. In 1880 Hulbert and Minerva have only one son Laurence (aka Lawrence). In both the 1870 and 1880 census Hulbert is living with people with the last name Van Auken. In 1880, Amy Van Auken is listed as a sister in law so from this I would conclude the man in 1870 to be Minerva's sisters' husband. In 1900 Hulbert Aldrich is living with his son, Lawrence and his daughter in law, Nellie in Arcadia, Wayne County, New York.
It appears that after Hulbert passed away Lawrence and his wife, Ella moved to Rochester, Monroe County, NY (as per 1915 census). They had a child, George F. Aldrich around 1906. Lawrence was a butcher at the time the 1915 census was taken.
