The Descendants of William Beder (Beader) born around 1824 in England, immigrated before 1860 to New York
William Beder (as is written in the 1860 census of Arcadia, Wayne County, New York) was born around 1824 somewhere in England. I have located William (Wm) Beader in the 1867 directory of Arcadia which can be located here. I can only locate him in the census of 1860, none before and none after. He had a wife named Sarah, who was four years older than he, also born in England. They had living with them: Caroline Farnsworth (soon became Mrs. Robert Beader); Thomas (Hushbie?); and Robert Beader (age 18, son of William). I was able to find a family tree online for this family, it can be seen here. It is maintained by ukmundia.com user ericclose1977, he appears to also have an ancestry user tree. There is also another tree on mundia.com here, this one is maintained by mundia user, skarand. This person also seems to have an ancestry account, and it is the same person who was looking for the marriage certificate for Robert Beader and Elizabeth Farnsworth.
Before the 1870 census Robert Beader and Caroline Farnsworth were married (the 1900 census indicates this may have happened in 1863), and she must have passed away. Robert was a widowed father of Thomas (age 6), Willie (age 4) and Lovina (age 2). Also living in the household was Louisa Kesser (age 21).
In the 1880 census Robert had remarried. Through the ancestry message boards we learn that he had married Elizabeth E. Walker on December 5, 1878. ("Certificiate of Marriage for Robert Beader and Elizabeth E. Walker of Newark, NY," richardjmem, 8 Oct 1999; Ancestry.com, (http://boards.ancestrylibrary.com/topics.researchresources.e-zines.somebodyslinks/85/mb.ashx : last accessed 25 July 2013). In the 1880 census (still in Arcadia) we see that Robert still has William (age 12) and Lovina (age 11) living with him. We also learn that he and Elizabeth have a daughter of their own, Lizzie (age 7). Robert's occupation is a well digger.
Between the year 1880 and the year 1900 this family had lost quite a few members. For this reason I found it very useful to locate the members in the 1892 census of New York. In 1892 still in Arcadia, we find that Thomas (William's son) married to Anna E. Scribner (daughter of Dayton and Sarah Scribner) and had the following two children: William T. (age 5) and Harris (age 4). Robert Beeder was now a well digger, still married to Eliza L. Walker, and they had two children in their home: Samuel R. (age 6) and Mary L. (age 2). William A. Beeder (age 28) was not listed with a wife, but lived in close proximity to his father, Robert.
Thomas Beader died in 1896 in a train accident while he was working. Mrs. Anna Scribner Beader died in 1898. Their obituaries follow this paragraph. My solution to the problem of Mrs. William Beeder having a living husband, I have solved in the following way. Anna Scribner was married to Thomas Beader. Upon his death in 1896, William (Thomas' brother) stepped in to help the young widow and her children. When she passed away, the children in her obituary are both his brothers' and his own. The eleven year old mentioned is William T. (five year old son of Thomas in the 1892 census). The three month old is Grace, daughter of William and Anna Scribner Beader. This becomes evident to by looking in the previous census' for the Scribner family. Dayton Scribner and his wife can be found in 1860 in Palmyra, 1870 in Arcadia, 1880 in Arcadia, and in 1900 in Phelps, Ontario County, New York. Dayton and Sarah Scribner only had one daughter, Anna E. who was born about 1861. This agrees with the obituary in that she would have been 37 years old in 1898. The marriage of William and Anna Scribner Beader also explains how William had no children listed with him in the 1892 census, and in the 1900 census he has 4. I believe the daughter, Anna, would have been Thomas' daughter as well as her year of birth is the same as his year of death.

In the 1900 census William is living in Arcadia. He has remarried to a woman named Jennie Leader, according to the article here, they were married in 1899. When I first saw this name I was fairly certain it was a misprint, but upon doing some research I have found it to be the right name. Jennie Leader was the daughter of William and Mary Hyatt Leader. William Leader died in 1892 of pnemonia. He had 4 children at the time of his death: William; Jennie; Harry; and Ray. Another child, Charles, was born shortly after his death.
In the 1900 census of Arcadia, William and Jennie have living with them the following children: William (age 13, son of Thomas); Anna (age 4, my best guess given the year of birth would be this is also Thomas' child); Grace (age 2, William and Anna Scribner Beader's daughter); and Edward (born May 24, 1900- son of William and Jennie).
In the 1900 census of Arcadia, Robert Beader is 52 years old, and widowed. He is living alone. According to this census he was married in 1863 (possibly dating his first marriage), but this becomes uncertain when his immigration date is listed as 1867, and we know he was living here in 1860.
We can find Harris Beader, son of Harris, living as a servant in the home of Amanda Taber. Also listed in this household are: Lois Allerton (Clicking this link will open a new page on the same tab, however right clicking down to open in new tab/new page will not); Catherine Broomer; Bertha Cobb; and Rebecca Allerton. I am unsure of the Allerton connection, but I am sure there is a connection between Harris and the Allerton family as Harris' middle name was Allerton.

As seen below, William and Jennie Leader Beader's son, Edward (from the 1900 census) was born on May 24, 1900. He died at the young age of 33.
In 1903 William and Jennie lost a child that was born in between census'. Richard Beader's obituary is below.
Mary Pauline Beader was born in 1905, and died on March 20, 1909.
The 1910 census of Arcadia lists William A. Beader, wife Jennie, and children: Grace L. (12); Edward H (9); Caroline L. (2); and Robert K. (age 0 years). Although William and Jennie had suffered great losses in the ten years prior, they still were having children and had quite a big family.
Thomas Beader's son, William Beader, has already married Maude DeHoud/DeHond and can be found living in Cicero, Onondaga County, New York.
Thomas' daughter, Anna, can be found living with her widowed grandmother, Sarah Scribner in Phelps, Ontario County, New York.
Thomas Beader's son, Harris, can now be found living with the Church family as a lodger in Arcadia, Wayne County, New York.
Perhaps Robert Beader's son from the 1892 census, Samuel R., is the same Samuel R. that can be found in Chicago, Illinois as a border in the Gill household, married to an Ada. If the two Samuel's are the same, the 1910 census gives some false information when pertaining to his parents.

By 1920, as seen above, Grace Beader had married a man named Gerald W. Myers. I am unable to find either of these two in a census after their wedding. Gerald's parents can be found in South Dakota.
William can still be found in Arcadia, Wayne County, New York. He and Jennie have the following children with them: Caroline (age 12); Robert (age 9); William (age 7); Frederick (age 5); and Donald (age 3 1/2).
Harris Beader is still living in Arcadia, as a boarder with the Courter family.
I cannot positively identify other members of this family in this census. William, who lived in Cicero in the 1910 census, filed his draft papers in 1917. He ended up settling in Utah. Possibly, the Maude seen in the Newark Cemetery was his wife, but I am unsure of this.

As can be seen in the above marriage announcement, William's daughter, Carolyn married John Lewis. John was the son of Thomas D. and Minnie Lewis.
In the 1930 census William and Jennie are still living in Arcadia. Their household now consists of the following: Jennie (his wife); Robert (his 19 year old son); William (his 17 year old son); Frederick (his 15 year old son); Donald (13); Paul (10); Edward (age 30, William and Jennie's first born child); and Minnie (Edward's 32 year old wife).
In the 1930 census of Phelps, Ontario County, New York John and his wife, Carolyn are living with John's parents.

Through the articles above we learn a couple things: (1) Grace Myers moved to Australia (2) Frederick Beader passed away (3) Carolyn Beader married John Lewis and had at least two children.
In the 1940 census William is still living in Arcadia. His household consists of: Jennie (his wife); Donald (his son); and Paul (his son).
John and Carolyn Beader Lewis are living in Phelps, Ontario County, New York. Their children are: Barbara (age 9); Joan (age 8); Getty Jane (age 5); and John (age 3).
William Beader who was the son of Thomas and Anne Scribner Beader was living in Salt Lake, Salt Lake County, Utah in the 1940 census. His status is married, but he is listed alone as a Machinist. He died on July 2, 1943, his memorial can be seen here.
William Beader, the son of William and Jennie Leader Beader, was married to a lady named Arlene Decann and they lived in Arcadia.
Robert Beader, the son of William and Jennie Leader Beader, was married to a lady named Jessie, they lived in Arcadia with their two year old daughter, Donna Kay.
